We welcome you to the opening of the Laboratory of Imagination. The Reykjavik City Library, the Design Team of the new Grófarhús and ÞYKJÓ are developing the Children’s Floor for the new library in Tryggvagata. What did the future users of the library dream of? Can dreams come true? At DesignMarch, the public is invited to try out a few prototypes for the Children’s Floor and have an impact on the design through feedback and conversation. The prototypes include obstacle courses, a reading cave, a story forest, cloud cities and a toddler’s sunny valley for the children. Children and their families will have the opportunity to participate in this recent phase of the design process and get a clearer sense of what the redesigned library will offer. The mayor of Reykjavík, Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir, will open the Laboratory of Imagination. Children and their families are especially welcome.
