Geothermal Exhibition

Opening Hours:
Mon - Sun: 9.00am - 5.00pm

Website: www.geothermalexhibition.com

Experience firsthand how green, sustainable energy is produced at Iceland's largest geothermal power plant. The Hellisheiði Geothermal Plant, owned and operated by ON Power, generates electricity for Iceland’s national grid and provides hot water for the capital region. It is situated in a stunning location surrounded by mountains and moss-covered lava fields.

Visitors to the exhibition have a unique and exciting opportunity to learn about geothermal power and sustainable energy in Iceland. They can also discover Icelandic geology, history, and the various innovative projects taking place in and around the power plant, such as Carbfix. Carbfix, developed at the plant, is a leading solution for CO₂ storage by transforming gas into rock. Additionally, visitors can admire views of the plant’s turbine halls, explore interactive and educational exhibits, and engage with our knowledgeable staff who are available to answer any questions.

Visitors are advised to bring their smartphones and headphones to fully enjoy the audio guide.

Book a guide online and get a 10% discount.

For group bookings please contact via email at syning@on.is.
